What is CrystalDiskInfo?
CrystalDiskInfo This is a small program for checking the status and health of hard drives (HDDs) and SSDs that support SMART technology used in your computer. It assesses the overall "health" of your drive and displays detailed information about the installed hard drive, including details such as drive temperature, current firmware version, number of failed read/write attempts, drive operating time, start-up and stop frequency, and more. If these factors approach a dangerous level, it will alert you and let you know how much time you have to back up your data.
Besides HDDs, SSDs also require regular checks. Many people may not know that SSDs have a limited amount of data write and erase capabilities, depending on the amount of data that can be written to the SSD. Manufacturers usually specify this in Terabytes written, also known as Endurance. For example, an SSD with an Endurance of 100 means it can support a total of 100 Terabytes of data writing, erasing, and rewriting. This allows you to track how much data has been written. Furthermore, the program supports Intel RAID and external HDDs. It can also be stored on a flash drive and used on other computers (portable).
