What is TeraCopy?
TeraCopy TeraCopy is a compact program that helps copy and move files at the fastest possible speed. It's designed to replace the Copy and Move functions of Windows Explorer, which many find slow and unreliable when transferring large numbers of files. TeraCopy dynamically resizes the buffer to reduce disk seek time and uses asynchronous copying between two drives, resulting in significantly faster overall file transfers than traditional methods, especially when transferring many files simultaneously.
What sets TeraCopy apart from other file copying programs is its more intelligent error handling system. If it encounters a problematic file during transfer, the program will try multiple times before skipping that file without stopping the entire transfer queue. Once complete, users can immediately re-copy only the skipped or failed files. Furthermore, TeraCopy verifies file integrity using over 17 checksum algorithms, including CRC32, MD5, SHA1, BLAKE3, and xxHash3, ensuring that the destination file is identical to the source file.
