What is HD Tune Pro?
HD Tune Pro is... Programs that can be used to check the performance of hard disks or SSDs can measure overall hard disk performance, including read and write speeds. They can test the hard disk's cache function and even scan the hard disk surface for errors (bad sectors). Furthermore, they can permanently erase data on the hard disk for data security purposes, monitor hard disk operation, and display the hard disk temperature.

Bad Sector Scanning

When encountering a bad sector.
- If you encounter a bad sector, back up your data immediately.
- The first option is to use a program called HDD Regenerator, which has the ability to repair erroneous areas.
- The second option, if you find only a few bad sectors, is to format the hard drive after backing up your data. Make a full format, not a quick one. After formatting, run an error scan again, as some bad sectors might be "false" bad sectors. If they are, the hard drive should return to normal.
- If the two methods above don't work, the last resort is to back up as much data as possible and then use a Low Level Format program to format the device (this method takes a very long time).
- If you've followed all three steps and are still experiencing a large number of bad sectors, then it's probably time to replace your hard drive.
