What is XnView MP?
XnView MP This is an image viewer and file manager that opens folders as thumbnails for easy browsing, along with a large image preview for detailed inspection. It can display images from cameras, phones, or various graphic file types simultaneously in a single window, eliminating the need to switch between programs based on file extension. Features include zooming, full-screen viewing, slideshows, and hovering images to select desired shots. The thumbnail view is resizable to screen space, and a file information panel allows you to view image size and camera details while selecting images, without having to open the properties of each file separately.
As the number of images increases, the Catalog stores a thumbnail index and information from selected folders for later retrieval. Starring, color-coding, and categorizing helps separate selected images from those still needing review. EXIF, IPTC, and XMP information provides details about shooting conditions or keywords attached to the file. Batch renaming allows you to use the shooting date or EXIF data as part of the name, ideal for merging images from multiple cameras that often have duplicate filenames. The built-in editing tools cover rotation, cropping, resizing, and color adjustment for preparing images for export. Batch Convert allows you to process multiple image files in one go, such as resizing and converting to JPEG or PNG. It also allows you to create contact sheets with thumbnails to view a complete set and combine images into multi-page files. When experimenting with new commands, choose a separate destination folder from the original files, as resizing or compressing may reduce detail.
